About Pie in the Sky®

For more than 24 years, Pie in the Sky® has been an extraordinary culinary fixture in the Puerto Vallarta area, winning over the hearts, minds, and taste buds of countless visitors as well as the locals in this beautiful resort community.

Pie in the Sky® was founded in 1987 at la Cruz de Huanacaxtle when the original owners started to make pies to get money to repair their boat. Using only family recipies, shortly they expanded into the making of cookies, cakes, and their famous Beso. In response to the great afluency of clients,Pie in the Sky® decided to move to Puerto Vallarta and Bucerias, being the last one their main store.

In 1998, Pie in the Sky® entered its current incarnation when it was bought by a couple from the San Francisco Bay Area, Susan Drexler and Philip J. Price. Together with their son Scott Miller, Executive Chef of Market Hall Catering and Cactus Tacqueria in Oakland and Berkeley, California, they have introduced additional gourmet items, while maintaining the quality and integrity of the original Pie in the Sky® product line. Nowadays, a dedicated staff of artisan  bakers, under the direction of Manuela Guerrero Esparza with 20 years experience as the bakery’s pastry chef, turns out fresh baked goodies every day.
